Disorder, random media

Phenomena associated with disorder, such as transport properties in random media or the fracture of brittle materials, are central themes in the rapidly expanding field of soft-condensed matter physics. Fracture, in addition to the academic questions posed by its formulation within the framework of statistical physics, also has great importance in a wide range of technological and industrial applications.
