There is one Postdoc position and one PhD position available in the group of Professor Sigurd Skogestad at the Department of Chemical Engineering at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. Both positions are a part of the large SUBPRPO program on subsea processing. 1. POSTDOC POSITION on “Model library for efficient steady-state and dynamic simulation of subsea processes” As part of the large SUBPRO program there is postdoc position available in the area of steady-state and dynamic process models for oil and gas separation in subsea operation. There is a big need for simple models for conceptual design, control and dynamic simulation of subsea process units. The models are typically written in Matlab but it should be possible to implement as modules in commercial software. Detailed tasks for the postdoc position: • Review models from literature and industry and perform gap analysis • Initiate and coordinate modelling activities • Models for: Oil/water separation, oil-gas separation, compact separators (cyclones), valves, pumping and boosting, natural convection heat exchange • Simulate case studies 2. PhD POSITION on “Control systems for robust and autonomous operation of subsea processes” The challenges are • Improved control is required for compact units • Subsea operation require more robust and autonomous control systems PhD position research topics: • Review of methods for autonomous control, including adaptive control and self-optimizing control • Identify units where autonomous operation may be challenging • Application to compact units, separators, slugging, boosting For general information about the SUBPRO project and application (which has to be made to jobbnorge.no with reference NT-23/15) see here: http://www.ntnu.no/kjempros/ledige-stillinger http://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/112284/20-phd-research-fellow-and-post-doctor-positions-within-subsea-production-and-processing In the application write clearly that you are interested in POSTDOC IN SUBSEA MODELLING or PHD IN SUBSEA PROCESS CONTROL. Application deadline: 26 Aril 2015
