Session 25 - Development and Operating Histories of ChEmical Processes
This session explores the development of and operation of those chemical processes commercialized during AIChE's first hundred years. Such chemical processes could include low-density and high-density polyethylene, rayon, nylon, ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol, olefin oligomerization, pharmaceutical chemicals, specialty chemicals and polymers, synthetic detergent range surfactants and many others. The presentation of each process describes the commercial driving force behind its development, its process development, its sustained operation, and its impact on society.
