Nanoparticles

Session 429 - Nanoparticles by Mechanical Breakage and Size Reduction
Nanoparticles can be synthesized by a wide range of mechanical methods. These methods include wet grinding, ultrasonication, erosion, fracture, and use of drying surface tension and hydrodynamic and hydrothermal methods. Control of nanoparticle size distribution and breakage kinetics are of importance to these processes. This session will focus on these mechanical methods and application of nanoparticles produced by such methods. The session will have particular emphasis on the kinetics of aggregate and agglomerate breakup.
