A rigorous compositional analysis model was developed to optimize the gas fields flow network to cater for gas processing plant feed composition constraints. The Linear Programming (LP) technique model was developed and linked to a thermodynamic engine, iCON, a PETRONAS own steady state process simulation software to give accurate phase equilibrium and flashing calculations. The thermodynamic engine also can detect any condensation of traveling gasses in the networks and provide the physical properties of the fluid commingled from different wells.

The LP Optimization model was developed based on current gas network configuration and maximum gas network flexibilities to evaluate the value creations that the gas network facilities can generate. Process modifications to cater for different modes of operation together with the economic analysis are also discussed in this paper.
