228a Developing Fusion Power: Using Plm Collaboration to Manage Engineering Content

Eric Martin, Desgin Office, ITER IO, Cadarache Joint Work Site -Building 519, 13108 St Paul-Lez-Durance, Cadarache, France

After a brief overview of the ITER Project, the presentation will cover the ITER Design Office challenges, including in particular a large number of inter-connected disciplines in mechanical and plant design, a complex interface system as well as a demanding collaboration scheme to allow the ITER Partners to remotely contribute to the Project an integrated manner.

Then the presentation will focus towards the solutions that are already in place, including key processes and procedures, the CAD and associated integrated data-base in the area of mechanical and plant design as well as configuration control. The collaboration and the simulation of the machine assembly and maintenance operations will be only introduced as handled by separate presentations at this conference.

Then the presentation will focus towards on-going and up-coming developments in particular in the area of plant design and engineering data-base allowing the connection of CAD data to non CAD data.
