Starting from the Context of Design Activities already depicted by the previous session (E. Martin, ITER DO Head), this presentation will report on the decisions and implementation of Design Office processes and aimed at providing a project wide environment which facilitates distant collaboration:

This will include in Particular:

- A review of the driving factors leading to the Choice of a Product Lifecycle Management System, with emphasis on collaborative aspects.

- The construction of 3 schemes of collaboration covering the wide range of industrial cases found in ITER

- The Implementation of technical and Quality enablers supporting the ITER DO collaborative approach

The Presentation will conclude with some general observations on the experiences and forthcoming challenges in developing a Collaborative Design Office structure.
