ProSimPlus® and Simulis® Thermodynamics are software applications developed by ProSim Company. ProSimPlus® is a general steady state process simulator used by many industrial companies. Simulis® Thermodynamics is a thermophysical propertiescalculation server that generates highly accurate pure component and mixture properties (thermodynamic, transport, compressibility…) and fluid phase equilibria (liquid-vapor, liquid-liquid and liquid-liquid-vapor). The standard version of Simulis® Thermodynamics is provided as an add-in in Microsoft® Excel or as a toolbox in MATLAB® and enables the user to run complete thermodynamic calculations in these applications, but it can also be plugged in any legacy code. In this presentation, we show their new CAPE-OPEN capabilities following the new implementation of CAPE-OPEN Thermo 1.1. Now, on the one hand, ProSimPlus offers CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic plug and socket facilities (version 1.0 and version 1.1) thanks to the integration of the thermodynamic calculation server Simulis® Thermodynamics. On the other hand, ProSimPlus also offers a CAPE-OPEN unit socket to be able to call external models for unit operations. These unit operations can be compliant either with CAPE-OPEN Thermo 1.0 either with CAPE-OPEN Thermo 1.1 or even both. These different capabilities are here demonstrated with the use of third-party components. So, with this support of the CAPE-OPEN standard (version 1.0 and 1.1), ProSimPlus proposes a new way to integrate customers' know-how.
