62e Biological Applications In Thermodynamics Education

Stanley Sandler, University of Delaware, Department of Chemical Engineering, Newark, DE 19716

The field of chemical engineering has evolved into areas of biochemical engineering, nanotechnolgy, product design, and other emerging fields. Applied thermodynamics plays a surprisingly important role in all of these areas. This presentation will focus on some of the applications of thermodynamics to biological chemical applications, and how these can be brought into the classroom.
