David H. Gracias, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, 125 Maryland Hall, 3400 N Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218

For the last five years, I have introduced a new class entitled micro and nanotechnology that is cross listed in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. A couple of years ago, I also tried to incorporate a laboratory component to the class. In this talk, I will describe my learnings from the class that is normally attended by 30-55 students. I will also discuss the need for funding for such classes especially those with a laboratory component.
