36b Support for Fusion's Future

Benjamin J. Cross, Energy Security, Savannah River National Laboratory, Aiken, SC 29808

Fusion, the power that runs the sun and the stars, is a viable energy alternative for the future. To make it work, large, unprecedented volumes of hydrogen isotopes must be processed. To facilitate environmental responsibility and economic practicality of fusion technology, the re-use of hydrogen isotopes is vital. A system to recycle the machine exhaust gases into a feed stream containing only hydrogen isotopes is critical.
