96b Molecular Recognition In Heterogeneous Catalysis

Rutger A. van Santen, Inorganic Chemistry and Catalysis, Eindhoven University of Technology, Den Dolech 2 / P.O. Box 513, Eindhoven, Netherlands

The impact of computational catalysis on current mechanistic understanding of heterogeneous catalytic reactions will be illustrated. Two classical issues in heterogeneous catalysis will be addressed. One topic is the issue of structure sensitive and insensitive reactions of transition metal catalysed reactions. The other deals with zeolite catalysis, where we will discuss chemical reactivity in an occluded environment.
