Activated carbon is widely used in battery and supercapacitor applications. Surface area is a critical property that leads to improved power density and, in some instances, energy density. Activated carbons are generally available with BET surface areas less than 2,000 m2/g. This proposal is on the use of ALL-CRAFT carbons with BET surface areas in excess of 3,000 m2/g for several capacitor and battery architectures.
