Process Control Systems enable operators of production units to operate their equipment and detect abnormal conditions. The knowledge acquired from these activities can enhance future operations if it is properly managed, and human factors have been found to play a significant role in this aspect of control system utilization. This paper will investigate how human factors should be considered in the design and engineering of control systems in a manufacturing environment.
