381e On Predicting the Future from the Past in Process Control

George Stephanopoulos, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Room 66-440, Cambridge, MA 02139

The speaker will comment on the ability of a person to predict the future of process control based on the past. For example, would an engineer in the early 1970s have predicted what process control would look like today in industry or academia? Then emerging areas in systems and process control will be discussed.
