Copper supported on TiO2 nanotubes has been prepared and used as support for metal oxides as catalysts in the preferential oxidation of CO (PROX). In-situ and operando characterization of these materials is also discussed. Activity results showed that close to 80% CO conversion can be achieved on these catalysts. XANES/EXAFS characterization results showed that the oxidation state of the supported copper varies with the reaction conditions following and approximate rate of r=k[Cu+2][Cu+1]-1.
