Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present recent results obtained in a research project between Ghent University and Chess medical Technology, Belgium. The overall aim is to provide a fast method for identification of airway mechanics, in order to assist the medical staff in obtaining a diagnosis of the patient. Some ideas for a novel detection of respiratory mechanics parameters for the human respiratory system are presented, as well as preliminary experimental results, indicating the future potential of the method.
