Abstract

We propose an estimator of the individual cylinder air fuel ratiosin a turbocharged Diesel Engine using as only sensor the singleair fuel ratio sensor placed downstream the turbine. The observerconsists of a nonlinear filter designed on a physics-basedtime-varying model for the engine dynamics. Convergence is proven, using a Lyapounov function. Performance is studied throughsimulations and test bench experiments on a 4 cylinder engine.
