Abstract

Direct feedback introduces a direct instantaneous depending of the input of a system upon its output. Whereas in continuous system theory the problem of direct feedback has been investigated in detail, feedback in discrete systems poses severe open problems. This paper investigates the problem of direct feedback in automata networks. It develops constructive criteria to test if direct feedback leads to a well-defined network.
