  1. S. Skogestad, "Control structure design for complete chemical plants", Comp.Chem.Engng., 2004, 219-234. Extended version of paper "Plantwide control: Towards a systematic procedure" from ESCAPE 12 symposium, Haag, May 2002. This is the main paper!

  2. S. Skogestad, ``Self-optimizing control: From key performance indicators to control of biological systems'', (2004). Submitted for publication of special issue of Comp.Chem.Engng. (based on PSE'2003)

  3. S. Skogestad, ``Integration of optimal operation of control'', (2003). Much of the same as the one above - one main difference is that we here have a distillation example. This gives an application of the "brute force" method for self-optimizing control. You need to know this!

  4. "Combination of measurements as controlled variables for self-optimizing control" Vidar Alstad and Sigurd Skogestad. Presented at ESCAPE-13, Here you find more information about the Alstad method for selecting combinations of measurements as controlled variables. See especially the powerppoint file.

  5. RGA: You also need to know the basics of RGA-analysis, e.g. see Chapter 19 in the book "Process Dynamics and control" by Seborg et al. (Wiley, 1989). Alternatively: see the file rga.pdf (see over) which is taken from the new edition of the book by Skogestad and Postlethwaite.

  7. Chapter 10 i "Multivariable Feedback Control" av Skogestad og Postlethwaite (filen på internett er en oppdatert versjon i forhold til boka fra 1996) This gives some more details on certain topics.
